The engagement underscored the enduring friendship and growing cooperation between the Philippine Marine Corps and the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. The courtesy call provided a meaningful opportunity for both leaders to reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing interoperability, and advancing mutual security objectives, highlighting the importance of sustained dialogue and professional exchanges in building trust and unity among allied forces. Brigadier General Hyun Woo Sik, in turn, expressed appreciation to the Philippine Marines and emphasized the ROKMCโ€™s dedication to deepening cooperation with its Marines counterparts.

The Republic of Korea Marine Corps is among the participating contingents in the PHโ€‘US hosted KAMANDAG Exercise 10-2026, which brought together multinational forces across Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Cavite, Palawan, and Tawiโ€‘Tawi. Their participation in this on going KAMANDAG Exercise 10-2026 underscores the shared commitment of partner nations to strengthen collective defense, enhance readiness, and uphold peace and stability in the Indoโ€‘Pacific region.
