Bangkok, Thailand β€” 25 February to 03 March 2026 - While the CPMC, MGen Vicente MAP Blanco III, initiated Key Leaders Engagements during the Multinational Exercise β€œCobra Gold” particularly with host country Thailand through the Royal Thai Marine Corps, the PMC also sent a delegation to participate through the Exercise’s Observer Program.

The PMC Delegation led by Brigadier General Wilfredo B. Manalang Jr. PN(M), Commander of the 3rd Marine Brigade, observed a series of joint military and humanitarian activities designed to enhance multinational cooperation, disaster response readiness, and coastal defense capabilities.

Key events included the Amphibious Exercise at Hat Yao, Sattahip Naval Base; the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Demonstration in Chachoengsao Province; Counter Landing Operations focusing on coastal defense; HIRAIN operations demonstrating rapid High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) deployment in Lopburi Province; and a Command Post Exercise at Red Horse Camp Naval Base emphasizing staff planning and command and control integration.

Through this engagement, the Philippine Marine Corps gained valuable insights into joint operations and evolving doctrines while strengthening interoperability and defense cooperation with regional partners in the Indo-Pacific.
