Thousands of Filipinos and foreigners nationwide came together and ran as one in the Philippine Marine Corpsโ€™ PMC โ€œKabayanihanโ€ Marathon 2026, the eventโ€™s remarkable 9th iteration in a nationwide, synchronized and simultaneous run held across the country. Held in observance of National Heroes Day on August 30, the 105mm Howitzer signaled the start, far more than an ordinary gun start.

Unique and historic, the PMC โ€œKabayanihanโ€ Marathon 2026 unfolded simultaneously across six sites from Northern Luzon to Southern Philippines: Ilocos Norte, Palawan, Cotabato City, and Tawiโ€‘Tawi. The Taguig City leg ran from Muyargas Parade Ground, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, to Sucat Exit Toll Gate on the CAVITEXโ€‘C5 Link Expressway. Meanwhile, the Subic leg was rescheduled and transformed into a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) initiative to aid Central Luzon flood victims, embodying the true spirit of "Kabayanihan": adapting to serve where help is needed most.

The event welcomed runners in six race categories: 3.2K, 5K, 10K, 21K, 42K, and 50K. Beyond endurance, the event honored the Nationโ€™s heroes - past and present, serving, and modernโ€‘day, recognizing all who rise with courage and resilience.
