Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City - The Philippine Marine Corps conducted a nationwide Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony on March 23, 2026, in observance of Holy Week.
The solemn event featured the raising of the Philippine flag, the reading of a message from General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and a symbolic candle lighting in honor of fallen heroes, an act reaffirming the Marinesโ unwavering loyalty, discipline, and devotion to the nation.
โWe are called not only to stand firm, but to be peacemakers - those who help bring our nation closer to the peace our people deserve,โ said Gen. Brawner.
โThis Holy Week, we are reminded that sacrifice has meaning only when it leads to something greater,โ he added.
More than a ceremonial tradition, the event embodied the true spirit of Marine service, a living testament to faith, sacrifice, and patriotism. It served as a powerful reminder that the flag they raise and the light they kindle remain enduring symbols of their solemn duty to protect the nation and uphold the values that define the Corps.
