Marines Have a New Deputy Commandant

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) held a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony for the Deputy Commandant on 25 September 2025, at the Hall of Flags, Headquarters Philippine Marine Corps. The event was presided over by the Commandant, PMC, MGen. Vicente MAP Blanco III PN(M).

BGen. Eric A. Macaambac PN(M) officially assumed the post as the new Deputy Commandant, succeeding BGen. Antonio G. Mangoroban Jr. PN(M), who honorably retired from military service after more than 37 years of dedicated service.

Before his current designation, BGen. Macaambac served as the Commander of the National Capital Region Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines. A proud member of the Philippine Military Academy “TANGLAW-DIWA” Class of 1992, his distinguished military career has been largely shaped by his assignments in the Mindanao area.

He also held key leadership positions, including Inspector General, PMC, and Commander, 1st Marine Brigade, prior to being appointed Deputy Commandant.

In his remarks, MGen. Blanco expressed his full trust and confidence in BGen. Macaambac’s leadership as he takes on this significant and challenging role in the Marine Corps.
