
FORT BONIFACIO, TAGUIG CITY - The Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) activated its newest ready force during an Activation Ceremony held today, May 28, 2026, at the Ceremonial Area, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Headquarters Philippine Marine Corps, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The Philippine Marine Ready Force – National Capital Region (PMRF-NCR), headed by Colonel Jose Marie T Santos PN(M)(GSC), serves as the premier ready force of the PMC within the NCR. Built as a highly mobile and versatile unit, it can deploy rapidly by land, sea, and air to support the contingency operations of the Philippine Navy and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, both in the capital region and nationwide.
The ceremony was led by Major General Vicente MAP Blanco III PN(M), Commandant, Philippine Marine Corps, who underscored the need for a strategic response to the dynamic security environment and the evolving operational realities confronting the Corps. “The activation of PMRF-NCR marks the Philippine Marine Corps’ strategic transformation into a more adaptive, mission-ready, and sustainment-driven force for national defense and operational excellence,” MGen Blanco said.
Col Santos, the newly installed Commander, PMRF-NCR, expressed his appreciation for the trust and confidence given to him to lead and build the new unit.
